How the smart home simulates your presence
Whether you are planning to be absent for a long or a short time, it is recommended that you leave the impression that someone is staying in the house in order to discourage uninvited guests. The smart house can, while you are away, turn the lights or appliances on and off automatically in certain rooms, put the shutters down, pull the curtains closed, open the windows or play music, simulating your presence in the house. But, in order to avoid unusual and illogical activities (e.g. playing music at 3 AM), the house might record your activities for a few days, memorize their schedule and then reproduce them in a given time when you are away. That will discourage ill-wishers from coming near your square meters.
